LOL Orphanage
Laugh Out Loud Ministry is a global nonprofit that nurtures orphans, neglected, and disadvantaged children and young adults, striving to foster a sense of belonging. They specifically assist Belizean youth exiting the foster care system, offering transitional housing and support to promote independence and stability.
Placencia Rotary Club
The Rotary Club in Placencia engages in community service projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and supporting education and healthcare initiatives. They also collaborate with international Rotary clubs to address global challenges through humanitarian efforts and exchange programs.
Youth Sports
Youth Sports in Placencia organizes recreational activities and competitive leagues for young athletes, promoting physical fitness and teamwork. They strive to foster skill development and a love for sports among the youth in the community.
Pack For A Purpose
Currently, we prioritize supporting St. John’s Anglican Primary School in Placencia, aiming to empower local youth and foster community well-being. As members of Pack for a Purpose, travelers can make a lasting impact by bringing supplies for our supported projects, positively affecting the lives of our local children and families.
Manatee Conservation
Inky’s is dedicated to Belizean manatee conservation, inspired by these gentle giants whose name reflects their likeness to the mythical sirens of the sea. Increased boating in Belize poses threats to manatees, prompting efforts to protect them from injury and death while addressing litter and water pollution. When you visit Inky’s, purchasing a Sirenian Bay Breeze contributes $1 USD from each sale directly to local manatee conservation efforts, supporting research, awareness programs in schools and camps, and aiding in manatee rescue operations.
Belize Bird Rescue
Belize Bird Rescue (BBR) was established in 2004 by Nikki Buxton and Jerry Larder after rescuing two featherless baby parrots, exposing them to the illegal wildlife trade. Since then, BBR has grown into Belize’s only multi-species avian rescue center, addressing avian wildlife poaching and conflict situations while respecting cultural practices and sensitivities. Their mission is supported by donors, sponsors, and visiting avian professionals who contribute expertise in medicine, rehabilitation, and behavior.

Farm-to-Table Cuisine

Our resort features an organic garden that supplies fresh, seasonal produce for our renowned farm-to-table cuisine. Our chefs create delectable dishes that highlight local flavors while minimizing our carbon footprint through reduced food miles and sustainable agricultural practices.

Sargassum Composting

We tackle the challenges posed by sargassum seaweed by converting it into nutrient-rich compost. This initiative not only helps maintain the beauty of our beaches but also enhances the soil quality in our organic garden, promoting a sustainable cycle of resource use.
